The Department of Arabic Language is a leading multi-disciplinary one in Syntax, Morphology, Linguistics, Ancient and Modern Literature, Rhetoric, and Criticism. It aims atpreparingBachelor graduates in Arabic language and literature in order to meet the needs of the country in all branches of the Arabic language. It also aims at creating nationally competent specialists of Arabic language and literature, contributing tothe development of Saudi Arabia and its institutions at home and abroad with a specific role of spreadingIslam and teaching Arabic to non-Arabic speakers.

Graduates from  the Department of Arabic Language and Literature may work in in the following areas:

teaching the Arabic language in all levels of education, radio and television, newspapers and magazines, publishing houses, linguistic consultations, research centers, all works related to the Arabic language in government or private sectors in addition to specialized research centers in the fields of Arabic language, institutions concerned with the development of Arabic language, universities, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Higher Education.
